About the brief.
A video training series for the MIRAS group on the role of public service interpreters. The series comprised 6 modules (each of approximately 20 minutes).
​
Each module explored a different aspect of the interpreter's role when working in public services (court room, hospital, school, asylum application centre etc.)
​
Two versions of the same fictionalised situation were presented. In the first, the interpreter makes a series of errors. The second version demonstrates good practice and shows viewers how professional public service interpreters should respond in complicated situations. Each video is accompanied by commentary from a MIRAS. researcher.
